This is my first ever blog, so please forgive me if my inexperience shows. I had to say a few words about a wonderful group of girls that I met this past weekend. I'm ashamed to admit it but, I was completely clueless about how local teams were doing in the basketball tournament (except for Anna, of course). I was getting my hair done one day at Vesta's (Candy Hager) in Wapak and when I got off of interstate, the town quickly spoke of their team the Lady Redskins. The excitement and support of the Lady Redskins was at every business, residence and roadside fence on hamburger row. The pride was just overflowing. Candy and I talked about the excitement and she was so proud and happy for them that she wanted to do a special day for them, just to pat them on the back for all of their hard work. A SPA DAY!
I had the privelage of meeting these girls and watching them interact with each other, and let me just tell you, this is a great group of girls. Their friendship was inspiring...their hands would be tied up in a manicure and if their nose itched, some one was their to help them out, if they were hungry, some one would feed them grapes (with dip!). Everyone should have a friend like that. Their beauty and confidence were inspiring, too, and I witnessed that before all the make-up and styling even got started. I think these girls will do great things with their lives. As a mother of 5, my 2 littlest being girls, I couldn't help but hope that my girls would grow up with that same beauty (inside beauty) and confidence. I didn't get to meet their parents, but I can imagine just how proud they are, and with due right, they have done a fine job with them.
A special thanks to Devon. She was our go to girl and helped with keeping things in line.
Congrats Lady Redskins for an awesome season and for making Wapak proud!!!
